This assignment asked students to pick an artist they resonated with for their imagery or concept, and create a final drawing that merged their own ideas with the artists.
This student chose Donald Sultan's charcoal lemon series, which enlarged the humble lemon into a velvety black image of strength. The objects she chose to enlarge were images of strength from her grandparents: a pace-maker, and a seamstress's thread.
